Users review: I saw this movie with some tender curiosity. It was wonderfully excessive and exaggerated, as you would expect from Baz Luhrmann's production. Leonardo DiCaprio started Gatsby (Old Spor!), Retaining a sense of familiarity. The scenario is a faithful adaptation, and also helped us to understand some of the issues more clearly novel. And even if you think you dubstep in the Jazz Age will be out of tune, the soundtrack worked very well. But can love her. And his (almost) Tobey Maguire fault.Gatsby loomed so large in the original story, that it's not hard to forget about Nick. But it can be argued, and often is, it was not Nick and Gatsby, who was the hero of the novel. Fitgeralds story, told in the first person from Nicks point of view, it was as good as Nicks narrative; Gatsby was only so big, because they saw that Nick way.Unfortunately, Maguire fell completely flat in its leadership role in the narrative. There was always so much else going on and so much to absorb Maguire Luhrmanns dream that seemed to get lost in all of this. It? with him? yes no audience. Without a strong presence by Maguire, Nick was demoted to play the role of interpreter of events to be just another form (a rather insignificant one at that). Luhrmann tried to keep Nicks narrative structure making it tell? first as a patient talking with a doctor at the sanatorium, and then as a writer tries to explain his pain through prose. But these scenes are unbeaten (at best) or how heavy the exhibition (at worst) as trivial Maguires on a limited audiobook version of The Great Gatsby.I I wanted to love this movie. Really. She had so many wonderful qualities. But without Nick (only Tobey) to help understand people and events, the Bad, and half in love with {that} and immensely sad that she left.
