Director Denis Villeneuve, whose last film was the equally fascinating and disturbing Incendies, the tension builds, the first frame and does not allow for a full 153 minutes of the film. Aaron Guzikowskis script, even though the surface of child abduction thriller defies all trends in Hollywood, as well as the tense thriller, raises serious moral problems. It also helps that the film is a first-rate cast does a very good job: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Terence Howard, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, and Maria Bello. Inmates are not easily heated, but it holds great next year's Oscars. |
