Users review: Probably one of the best horror comedies of all time is Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead, and since its release in 04, there are a number of candidates. Based on the trailers for Zombieland, but I thought the movie had some serious potential to match Shaun in terms of quality, perhaps even appropriated. Having seen the film, I'm happy to say I just Zombieland that.Unlike many comedies in recent history, when most of the laughs already provided by the trailer, Zombieland is filled to the brim with laugh out loud moments, thanks in large part of the excellent cast. Eisenberg is impressive, as the main character, Columbus, representing a sense of vulnerability and unusual without being too much like Michael Cera. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are also wonderful as a sweet, but hard Wichita and looks more mature than Little Rock, respectively. The performance of the real stand-out, however, is Woody Harrelson as Chocolate-Lovin ', zombie-hatin Tallahassee. By Woody Boyd in cheers and Fraser, this is definitely the best performance of his career. Theres also painfully hilarious cameo halfway through the film that would be a crime to spoil. Suffice it to say that it is? hands down? best cameo I've ever seen in the film. The most surprising aspect of Zombieland, for me, is the amount of heart there. All characters are warm and alive, and that the drama feels extremely honest. Ultimately, you feel invested in the story and the characters, what? I think? is the most important thing any film of any genre can do.Zombieland became an instant favorite of mine horror (comedy or otherwise). The? for lack of a better word? quoted dialogue to consistently hysterical and endearing characters, all come together to create a film that will undoubtedly become a cult classic.
